Course Structure

 

BSBLDR401 – Communicate effectively as a workplace leader
To develop and build a deeper understanding of how communication is used in the workplace and the effect it has on others. We will put a particular focus on the impact of stress on how we communicate, and ways in which to utilise pressure positively in communicating. Using a tool to measure thinking preferences we help leaders and managers understand how to be appeal to a diversity of thinking preferences
BSBLDR402 – Lead effective workplace relationships
In crisis the ability to create trust and lead is essential. This core unit is to develop the skills required to promote team collaboration and cohesion while bridging the gap between team members and management groups.
BSBLDR403 – Lead team effectiveness
All the participants will develop a plan for how to develop team plans and action. This unit also covers the skills and knowledge to supervise and monitor the performance of a team regarding the business/organisations desired outcomes and we will add in material that relates to the impact of fear and stress on teams.
BSBMGT402 – Implement operational plan
All participants will finish with a ready to use operational plan. We will cover how to plan for contingencies given the current context and the need to monitor and make adjustments to a plan to meet performance requirements. They will also plan of for the acquisition of resources both physical and skill based in a post pandemic world.
BSBADM409 – Coordinate business resource
Considered essential during COVID19 to ensure members are effectively looking at their resources, what is available and what is needed for both individuals and teams in their business. It also relates to accountability regarding business resources and their use during this time when it is essential to maximise all resources as well as looking at what is available due to COVID 19 that will support their business, such as this program.
BSBINN301 – Promote innovation in a team environment
We considered this elective particularly important during the COVID-19 crisis as innovation will be what sets successful businesses apart from those who try and continue with approaches of the past. This unit develops the skills to effectively encourage and support innovation within their workplaces to ensure they are stronger than ever post-pandemic.
BSBLDR404 – Lead a diverse workforce
This unit develops the understanding of how to maximise the diverse skills individuals and teams bring to their workplace. Participants develop written strategies to increase overall performance in their teams and embrace the diversity for the expansion of perspective it offers.
BSBMGT403 – Implement continuous improvement
This is essential at any time but we see it as absolutely essential now to survive the pandemic and ensure financial recovery as soon as possible. This unit was described to us as providing an understanding of how continuous improvement works within a business/organisation and the steps required to create and effectively monitor systems and make changes to improve the systems if needed. Students will learn the time tested models for continual improvement and apply them to their own businesses.
BSBCUS403 – Implement customer service standards
This unit gets students to reflect on this aspect of their businesses and particularly with customers having restricted finances to budget during and post pandemic it is essential to retain and attract customers. This will teach participants how to review or implement a system for customer service. It will help them to analyse the best methods for getting customer feedback and developing an understanding of how to monitor customer feedback, and improve the systems as a result.
BSBWOR404 – Develop workplace priorities
This unit allows individuals working from home and in the workplace to develop their own work schedule and work plans that will assist them in efficiently prioritising tasks through a structured approach. Providing control and focus on tasks that will generate positive outcomes for individuals and businesses. Taking COVID 19 in to consideration, this will enhance their ability to work more effectively in the unpredictable and currently changing work environment.
BSBPMG522 – Undertake project work
This unit requires participants to undertake a project and demonstrate application of the learnings of the course.
BSBMGT401 – Show leadership in the workplace
This unit is considered essential due to the strong focus on values and strengths and how behaviours and actions affect others in the workplace. COVID-19 has highlighted across the globe the difference in recovery between effective and ineffective leadership.
